At Heritage Home, we treat body, mind, and spirit as we work towards our clients' recovery and personal development. Holistic healing is based on the idea that the body, mind, and spirit function as a harmonious unit and adverse effects on one also affect the others, requiring treatment of the whole to restore the harmonious balance.
Substance abuse negatively affects all aspects of the human condition. We help our clients to discover their own needs and find a healing process that can continue in their life after treatment.
Traditional Native Healing is based on a holistic approach that helps the person as a whole – as a physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional being. Clients engage in traditional ceremonies -- the Healing Circle and Sweat Lodge -- that are based in cultural beliefs of the aboriginal people of Turtle Island ( North America ). The healing ceremonies are lead by a native elder.
The healing circle is one of the most powerful native ceremonies. It brings people together through sharing and support. A healing circle is often followed by a sweat lodge to help in the healing.
The sweat lodge reconnects us to the mother earth and to ourselves in a very safe and loving environment.
